What is Datto Networking

On January 30, 2017, we launched Datto Networking, the only MSP--Centric line of networking products available today. Consisting of the Datto Networking Appliance > edge router with fully integrated 4G LTE for Internet failover and firewall <, the Datto Networking Switches (five models in 8, 24 and 48 port configurations with PoE budgets ranging from 55W to 740W), and Datto Networking WiFi access points (802.11ac, 2x2 or 3x3 models), it is the world’s first networking product line purpose built for MSPs.

How do you build an MSP-Centric product line? Simple everything about the product line must align with how MSPs deliver service. The product line needs to be easy to install, easy to configure, and easy to manage from a remote location. Pricing must align with how MSPs sell services. The product line must include capabilities that will save MSPs money, must integrate into the software tools they use to manage their business, and must be able to support multiple clients and networks at the same time. Datto Networking was built from the ground up to deliver these features and more to its partners.

Datto Networking Appliance
The Datto Networking Appliance (DNA) plugs into modems from local ISPs and acts as an edge router. It comes fully equipped with a built-in firewall, WiFi, intrusion detection and prevention, and fully-integrated 4G LTE for Internet failover (no contract and no overages with standard use). Built for continued MSP-centric expansion, the Datto Networking Appliance features an 8 core processor, 8GB of RAM, a 32GB solid state hard drive and an ever expanding feature set all configured from the Datto Partner Portal.

Datto Networking Switches
Datto Networking Switches deliver robust Layer 2 management features including line rate switching, link aggregation, port mirroring/trunking, STP, IGMP snooping, VLAN, port security, storm control, port isolation, attack prevention, ACL, SNMP, and more. Managed from a single-pane-of-glass, Datto Switches enable an MSP to deliver the switching performance needed by most SMB clients. With “Just-Plug-It-In” installation and born in the cloud remote management, Datto Switches seamlessly integrate with Datto Networking WiFi access points and include PoE+ (802.3af/at) on every port. With five models in 8, 24 or 48 port options, including the all new L8 and L24 standard power models, all Datto Networking Switches feature QoS and Voice VLAN to support VoIP deployments.

Datto Networking WiFi

Datto Networking WiFi features 802.11ac with cloud stored configurations and management. Because all configurations can be cloned from a similar network, and because Datto Networking Management delivers toggle-based settings that can be configured in advance, an MSP does not have to deploy its most expensive technical resources for installation. Just plug the Access Point in and it works. And with auto-optimization features designed to continually fine tune WiFi performance, Datto Networking WiFi delivers the performance most SMB customers need, with a management interface optimized for the MSP.

Datto Access Points ship with enclosures designed to install in virtually any environment (operating temperatures range from -20°C to 50°C), are fully mesh enabled, and deliver enterprise-grade WiFi featuring dual band simultaneous 2.4GHz/5GHz, Gigabit Ethernet, standard 802.3af PoE and more.

The entire Datto Networking product line is available in the US right now, with Access Points and Switches available in APAC and ANZ. For more information on Datto Networking,
